Shawnigan Lake School – is a world-class, co-educational boarding school located on Vancouver Island, BC. The setting is magnificent – 300 acres in a safe, rural environment of forest, lake, sweeping lawns and gorgeous gardens which all provide the backdrop for the superbly equipped campus and excellent facilities. Shawnigan delivers a demanding university-preparatory program that sees all of its graduates invariably achieve a place at the university or college of their choice, including the finest institutions that North America and Europe have to offer.

Academics – At Shawnigan, we believe that a well-rounded education is a complete education. Shawnigan graduates attend universities and colleges all over the world, and they excel in the exciting and challenging environments at these schools. The commitment and values that our students learn to accept as part of their lives here is a key part of their readiness to meet the demands of the next stage in their lives.

Athletics – Our goal in the athletic program is to develop the athletic potential of each student and to create genuine opportunities to excel with others. We offer an impressive range of sports. For the boys, rugby and rowing are our flagship sports, while for the girls it is field hockey and rowing and we have very proud traditions of success in each of these sports, both at local and international levels.

Fine Arts –Shawnigan prides itself on the quality of its fine arts and sees these programs as a vital component of the complete education. Emphasis in the arts is placed on personal growth and development of life-long skills. Shawnigan’s excellent studio facilities are available to the students seven days a week. Performing students are involved in concerts and festivals both locally and nationally and our School Musical is an annual highlight. The visual arts also showcase student talents through national competitions and local galleries.

Excellence in Education - Each day, Shawnigan students balance the demands of an exacting academic curriculum with a full involvement in the ambitious and successful athletics and fine arts programs.

We have highly qualified and dedicated teaching staff, guaranteeing a caring and productive learning environment.
